Taylor Oil Co. To Construct Tank Farm For Poplar Island Environmental Restoration Project

Taylor Oil Company has been selected by Kiewitt Construction of Baltimore, Maryland to construct a 100,000 gallon tank farm for the Poplar Island Environmental Restoration Project. The state of the art tank farm, designed by Taylor Oil, is a Coast Guard Certified Marine Terminal and will receive barge shipments of diesel fuel to support the construction effort.
The Poplar Island Restoration Environmental Project is a 45 Million dollar construction contract awarded to Kiewitt Construction by the United States Army Corp. of Engineers. The contract includes installation of 35,000 feet of containment dike that will hold 20 million cubic yards of dredged material. Taylor Oil is proud to be a part of this venture, which, once completed will greatly enhance the overall health of the Chesapeake Bay by increasing natural habitats.
